Basic Share Account a.k.a. savings account
This may seem like your general, run-of-the-mill savings account that you could get just about anywhere, but at Hopewell Federal it means so much more. All members have to open a share account in order to join Hopewell Federal Credit Union. It’s called a “share” account because it represents your partial ownership of the credit union.

• Begin with $50 and your share savings account earns dividends quarterly
• $25 minimum balance required

U.S. Savings Bonds
Bonds are offered by the federal government and are guaranteed to double their value at maturity. Maturity dates typically take several years. For example, you could purchase a U.S. Savings bond today for $50.00 and at maturity, it will be worth $100. It’s that simple.

We take care of our members. All regular savings and club accounts at Hopewell Federal are federally insured up to $100, 000 by the NCUA. IRA accounts are insured up to $250,000 as well. Hopewell Federal also provides additional insurance coverage through Excess Share Insurance for an additional $250,000. That means that you can have $350,000 on deposit at Hopewell Federal and all $350,000 is insured. With that kind of coverage there is no need to spend time spreading your funds out between other financial institutions when your funds are safe and secure, right here.
